About Decatur Parents Network

The Decatur Parents Network is an initiative led by the Decatur High School PTSA to engage and organize all City of Decatur parents, and our community at large, in support of our children.

Ultimately, we seek to build trust and relationships among parents and youth so all are enabled to support successful transitions from teen years to early adult years. We are committed to, open, honest, and respectful communications.

Our Vision: A Decatur community of parents, caregivers, and friends
promoting a nurturing environment that encourages teens to make safe, smart choices.

Our Mission: Empower families by fostering communication among parents and cultivating safe, fun activities for our teens.

Our Goals:
  • Create and sustain a vibrant parent network that allows Decatur parents and caregivers to connect, engage, learn, and support each other.
  • Identify proven programs, tools, and expertise to assist families as they experience the challenges common to youth navigating adolescence.
  • Promote and expand opportunities for our youth to create, lead, and engage in safe, fun and supervised activities.
